NEW TO SHAMPOO BARS? HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT.

A transition period may occur when switching to a natural shampoo bar. Commercial shampoos contain detergents and silicones. Depending upon what you have been using to wash, condition and style your hair with, it may take time for your scalp to adjust to its natural oil production and to work built-up residue out of your hair.
Give it a week or two if you are new to natural shampoos; use a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse (see recipe below) daily for the first several days to help remove build up while soothing your scalp and then reduce to once every few days or as needed. 
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse Recipe: Use an Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse to help condition, reduce tangles, remove old build up and sooth scalp (helps with scalp pH) during the transition period:
Use 2-4 TBLSP apple cider vinegar to 1 cup water used as a conditioning rinse after shampooing and rinsing. If you have a spray bottle, that gives you more control or you can just pour the mixture over you hair and scalp.

NEW TO SHAMPOO BARS? HERE’S HOW TO USE ONE:

  1. Wet hair in shower.
  2. Wet shampoo bar and glide across scalp and hair.
  3. Massage hair and scalp with hands and fingertips to spread and lather shampoo.
  4. Add more as needed, especially for long or thick hair, remembering to lift thick hair in sections to get close to scalp. 
  5. Return hair to water and thoroughly rinse out lather.
  6. Use apple-cider vinegar rinse as needed.

Natural Products

Many items on our site are handmade from natural products or produced in small batches from natural products. Due to this, each one may be unique, sizes are approximate and special care may need to be taken for some items (i.e. occasionally rubbing your wooden products with a plant based oil or a natural wax).
