What to wear golfing in spring

Build around a polo#
Wear a polo you would be happy in by itself, because by the afternoon it may be all you need. Mid-weight pique is a good all-round choice in spring.
One layer you can open#
A half-zip covers the cold start and unzips as the day warms. On colder mornings, a light shell over the half-zip adds another layer you can stuff in the bag later.
Think about your feet#
Spring courses are often soft and dewy, especially early in the day. Wear golf shoes you don't mind getting wet, and pack a spare pair of socks for the drive home.
