What to wear to a golf lesson
Illustrative imageThe short answer: Wear clothes you can swing freely in: a polo or a tee for the range, comfortable pants or shorts, a cap and golf or athletic shoes, plus a light layer if it is cool.
A lesson is about your swing, so the best outfit is one you forget you are wearing. Comfort and freedom of movement come first, then whatever the facility expects.
Dress for movement#
Your coach needs to see your posture and your arms, so skip anything baggy or stiff. A polo or a well-fitting tee with room through the shoulders is ideal. How a golf polo should fit covers the shoulder and length checks.
Where the lesson is#
At a driving range or simulator, a tee is usually fine; see what to wear to a driving range. If the lesson is on a course, or at a private club, follow its dress code and wear a collared shirt.
Layers and headwear#
Range bays can be cool in the morning. A quarter-zip that opens at the neck lets you warm up without restricting your turn, and a cap keeps the sun out of your eyes when you watch the ball flight.
What to bring#
