What to wear to Topgolf or a driving range
AI illustrationRange sessions and hitting bays are the most relaxed way to play golf. There is rarely a strict dress code, but you are still making full swings for an hour or two, so comfort and room to move come first.
Clothes#
Anything you can swing in works: a polo, a crewneck, a hoodie or a plain T-shirt, with joggers, chinos or shorts.
Entertainment-style venues are usually casual and ask guests to dress appropriately. Check the venue's website if you are going for a work event or a party.
Shoes#
Wear comfortable sneakers or spikeless golf shoes. Hitting bays usually have mats, and some venues don't allow spiked shoes, so leave the cleats in the car.
Layers for open-air bays#
Many hitting bays are open to the air, with heaters in cooler months. A hoodie or half-zip you can take off once you have warmed up is the most useful piece you can bring.
Ranges at golf clubs#
The practice range at a private club usually follows the club's dress code, so dress as you would for the course: a collared shirt and golf pants or shorts.
Questions#
Is there a dress code at Topgolf?
Each venue sets its own guest policy, which is generally relaxed and asks guests to dress appropriately. Check the location's website before a group event.
Can you wear jeans to a driving range?
Most public driving ranges are relaxed about jeans, though they are not the most comfortable for a full swing. Ranges at private clubs usually follow the club's dress code.
What shoes should I wear to the range?
Sneakers or spikeless golf shoes with a flat, grippy sole. Some venues with mats don't allow spiked shoes.
